Our Story

Meet Ryan & Roshan

The couple behind The Seascape — and the answers to all your questions.

The Philosophy

Views Endless. Stress Non-Existent.

We built The Seascape to be a place where the views are endless and the stress is non-existent. Located in the heart of Sri Lanka's best surfing coastline, our boutique hotel blends high-end comfort with a laid-back beach vibe.

Every single room at The Seascape features a frontal ocean view. There are no “bad rooms” here — you are guaranteed a stunning vista of the Indian Ocean from the moment you wake up. Our balcony furniture is handcrafted from local rattan, designed for long hours of reading or just watching the waves.

How It All Began

Guests always ask: “How did you two meet? How did The Seascape start?” Our brother-in-law Olaf Schuur — the best cameraman in the Netherlands — captured our answer.

What We Stand For

The No-Worries View

Every single room has a frontal ocean view. There are no bad rooms here — you are guaranteed a stunning vista of the Indian Ocean from the moment you wake up.

Designed for Real Relaxing

Our balcony furniture is handcrafted from local rattan — made for long hours of reading or just watching the waves. Ryan has stayed in too many hotels with uncomfortable chairs. That won't happen here.

Stress-Free Sunshine

No need to wake up early to reserve your sunchair with a towel. We make sure there are always enough spots for everyone. Your place in the sun is always waiting.

Location

Elijakanda Road,
Matara, Sri Lanka

We sit on the southern coast of Sri Lanka — 30 seconds walk from the beach and the surf. The ancient city of Galle Fort is under an hour away. Colombo is reachable by train from nearby Matara station.

Weligama Bay and the surrounding coast is legendary for its surf breaks, whale watching, and fresh seafood. You are never far from extraordinary here.
